Holistic Healing Therapies

Hi, my name is Marie of Marie Denton Holistic Therapies. 

A little bit about what I do and why!

 

Experiential Healing

- Do you find yourself stuck in repeating patterns? (relationships, money, weight, health, career) Taking one step forward, to find you then move two steps backwards. 

- Is your mind never quiet? Do you overthink and worry?

- Do you always put others first, and find that people don’t do the same for you?

- Do you have ideas, hopes and dreams that you just don’t seem to be able to bring to fruition? 

I could answer yes to all of these questions before I started my journey. After trying various types of talking therapy, that helped to an extent, I was just never getting to the core and feeling like I had really solved any of this, with the same old patterns repeating. 

In 2020 I discovered a type of therapy, Experiential Healing, which completely changed my life, and how I felt about myself. It helped me to connect with those parts of me (and ages of me), which had long been forgotten, but were actually running the show and creating my reality on a day to day basis. 

I was holding beliefs (in my subconscious mind) about not being good enough, being unlovable, being bad, that everyone would leave me, always on the edge of fight or flight, on the look out for the next thing that would go wrong. These beliefs were all formed from my early life experiences and actually were shaping my adult life. 

After a period of receiving this therapy, learning to understand myself, access these parts of me I had buried within, and let go of those limiting beliefs and decisions I made about the world and how it would treat me, I knew that this was something I wanted to be able to guide others through too. It really has changed my life. 

Don’t get me wrong, I am not some sort of Zen Guru, walking around with flowers in my hair and wearing a colorful kaftan, I do still get upset and triggered, I do still go through periods of doubt and fear, but because this therapy also gave me tools to keep using throughout my life, I can quickly get on top of them, understand them, and let them go, so I am not carrying them and the negative energy that comes with them. I don’t have to keep going back for help from a therapist, I have become my own therapist.

Reiki

Reiki is a form of holistic healing that emphasizes the balance of energy within the body, promoting physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Originating from Japan, Reiki practitioners use gentle touch or hands-off techniques to channel universal life force energy, helping to release blockages and restore harmony. This practice not only aids in relaxation and stress reduction but also supports the body's natural healing processes. As a holistic approach, Reiki encourages individuals to connect with their inner selves, fostering a deeper understanding of their health and well-being.

 

Sound Therapy

Sound therapy is an integral aspect of holistic healing, utilising the power of sound frequencies to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. This therapeutic approach harnesses the vibrational energy of sound, produced from Drumming, Bowls, Gongs and various percussion instruments, to help individuals achieve a state of relaxation and balance. By resonating with the body's energy centers, sound therapy can release tension, reduce stress, and facilitate deeper states of meditation, allowing for a more profound healing experience.  

 

Reflexology

Reflexology is a holistic healing practice that involves applying pressure to specific points on the feet, which correspond to different organs and systems in the body. By stimulating these reflex points, reflexology aims to promote relaxation, improve circulation, and support the body's natural healing processes. This complementary therapy not only addresses physical ailments but also enhances emotional well-being, making it a valuable component of a holistic approach to health.

 

How will we work together?

I use a client centred approach, and after an initial chat, we will agree, together, which of the therapies I can provide (or indeed a combination of them), that will best support you in making the changes and improvements to your overall wellbeing that you desire. 

If you already know, and think, I just want for example, a Reiki session, then I am also happy to just get those booked in without a need for a full consultation session.
