Sultana Begum

Counsellor

Shaw Therapy Centre

My name is Sultana I am an experienced MBACP Integrative Person-Centred Counsellor, I offer a private, confidential, and non-judgemental space for you to explore and discuss your concerns and difficulties. I offer therapeutic intervention on Mental Health Issues such as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and phobias. I have high success in couples counselling and have supported clients going through loss, trauma, separation and divorce. Whatever the issue I hope to work together to explore and unpack the patterns of thought, core beliefs and behaviours that are preventing you from living your life fully and authentically.

I am fluent in Bangla and Urdu I work holistically, using various tools and perspectives to explore your ‘whole being.’ This includes working in depth with early childhood and past trauma, addressing current issues, and tapping into your vast potential for change. Our sessions will primarily be conversation-based, we may also incorporate creative techniques.

I offer a free 15-minute consultation to discuss your needs and how I can help you on your journey to well-being. My professional experience and passion for working with diverse cultures ensure a deeper level of empathy and understanding, allowing me to relate to people from all walks.

As a specialist in mental health and well-being, I understand the complexities of the challenges individuals face. Anxiety, depression, and stress can impact daily life, while deeper struggles such as trauma, PTSD, and self-harming require compassionate support. Family conflict, parenting difficulties, and adoption-related issues can bring emotional strain, just as relationship challenges and low self-esteem affect personal growth. I work with individuals navigating mental health conditions like bipolar disorder, OCD, and oppositional defiance (ODD), as well as those managing anger, behavioural issues, and men’s mental health concerns. Physical and emotional well-being are closely linked, with obesity, medication management, and sports performance playing a role in overall health. Experiences of sexual abuse, addiction, and alcohol use can leave lasting effects, while pregnancy, postpartum changes, and dementia present their own unique struggles. Whatever you are facing, know that help and support are available to guide you toward healing and resilience.
